On December 13th CAMLIN hosted an event with its community partners Include Youth, to celebrate the new youth employment mentor programme launched in 2018 and the CAMLIN employees who have contributed to its success.
CAMLIN launched the collaboration with Include Youth in March 2018 as a response to the barriers some young people face when seeking employment and carving out career paths. As a company committed to supporting prosperity in Northern Ireland, CAMLIN recognises the important role to play in ensuring we reach out and create equal chances for all young people and make our workplace a less intimidating and a more inclusive environment. The aim is to open up opportunities for young people through provision of work site tours, skills workshops, job shadowing and one to one mentoring.
- Andy Armstrong, Include Youth
To date 24 CAMLIN employees have completed accredited mentor training and were awarded their certificates at the event by CAMLIN Chief Executive, John Cunningham.
- Colin Brew, HR Business Partner, CAMLIN.
Camlin team members have given 2 site tours and provided over 8 skills based workshops across Production and Assembly, Applied Engineering and HR/ Administration skills to over 20 young people. The aim is to expand the scope of the programme this year to include workshops in marketing, communications and IT, as well as job shadowing and work placement opportunities for even more young people across Northern Ireland.
